Bio:
Mr. Debendra Karki is community volunteer in Canada since his migration to Canada in 2014.
He is lifetime member and leading SNS since 2022. He has completed Master of Science in
Botany specialization on ecology from Tribhuvan University Nepal in 2008. Along with the social work, he has strong teaching and research background. He started his teaching since he was 18 and taught more than Dozen schools and colleges. Mainly he worked as faculty member of College of Applied Science and Science Program Coordinator in Everest Innovative College (EIC) Soltimode till his time in Nepal. He has served as national Treasure of Higher Secondary Teachers’ Association Nepal (HISTAN) now known as HISTUN. Worked as editorial assistant on Himalayan Journal of Sciences and Editor on Botanica Orientalis too. He was foreign affiliate to Alpine Microbial Observatory AMO till 2017.
He was awarded ‘Nepal Bidhya Bhusan-Kha’ Medal by the president of Nepal in 2010; ‘Krishna
Chandra Regmi Award’ 2010 by Tribhuvan University for best master’s thesis among all
faculties of university year 2009; ‘First Class First with Distinction’ award by Central Department
of Botany in 2008; ‘Collegiate Ambassador of Peace National’ 2007 by W-CARP.
He is co-author of book Universal Biology 2012, Oasis Publication Kathmandu; Biology-I 2019,
KEC publication Kathmandu; Biology-II 2020, KEC publication Kathmandu. He is the co-author
of several research papers published on PNAS, Proceedings of the Royal Society B, Global
Change Biology, International Journal of Geo-information, Himalayan Journal of Sciences,
Journal of Natural History Museum etc.,
